Down The TBR Hole #1

Down The TBR Hole

So I saw this post by  Zuky @BookBum , (her blog is very cool, you should totally check it out) and I absolutely love this idea, I believe that the credits for it go to Lia @Lost In A Story so thanks for this awesomeness.

The aim is to declutter your tbr shelf. To do this:

  • Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  • Order on ascending date added.
  • Take the first 5 (or 10 if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  • Read the synopsesof the books
  • Decide: keep itor should it go?

    • No Way Back by Andrew Gross

No Way Back is a thrilling page-turner from Andrew Gross, the New York Times bestselling author of 15 Seconds and The Blue Zone. One woman is framed for a horrific crime, and desperate to prove her innocence.

A chance meeting with a stranger in a hotel ends in a shocking murder. Wendy Gould is an average mom–and the only witness. Nanny Lauritzia Velez knows a shocking secret that could prove to be deadly. Both of their lives in danger, this unlikely pair must work together against a network of dangerous men who want nothing more than to see them dead.

A fast-paced, riveting tale with strong, compelling characters, No Way Back is an edge-of-your-seat read with nonstop action and a complex mystery.

I got this book like two- three years ago and I just haven’t got to it for some reason but I do want to read this book because, I just don’t like mystery that much- maybe I will someday.

Hannah Sorrento never planned to be a band manager. She’s a princess and the toughest obstacle she’s had in life is finding shoes to match her outfit.
Then her father disappears leaves her with only the money in her purse and a management contract for hot, indie band, STORM. She plans to sell the contract, one way or another, then pack up her designer wardrobe and head back to law school.
But lead singer, Jack Colt, has other ideas. She’s never met a man like him before. His raw sexuality is messing with her head and her heart… and a lot of other body parts.
With the help of crazy rock chick, Angie, Hannah sets the band on their first steps to the big time and learns to survive on her own.
But this isn’t some game – soon the threat that Hannah fears most becomes reality.
Jack Colt – he’s arrogant and infuriating but he’s the one that’s there for Hannah when her world comes crashing down. With secrets of his own, will Jack Colt save Hannah or destroy her?

The description doesn’t make me really want to dive into the book instantly and the reviews haven’t been too good either so,

    • Last Sacrifice by Richelle Meed

    They come first.

My vision was growing dimmer, the blackness and ghosts closing in. I swore it was like I could hear Robert whispering in my ear: The world of the dead won’t give you up a second time. Just before the light completely vanished, I saw Dimitri’s face join Lissa’s. I wanted to smile. I decided then that if the two people I loved most were safe, I could leave this world.

The dead could finally have me.

Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules. She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir’s Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardians to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose – for a crime she didn’t even commit. She’s in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She’ll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose’s life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back…and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your whole life is about saving others, who will save you?

You guys I cannot tell you the amount of times I have picked this book up (4) and finished it halfway but never fully and I loved the series and I really wish I can finish it soon.

While the other girls in the walled city-state of Baalboden learn to sew and dance, Rachel Adams learns to track and hunt. While they bend like reeds to the will of their male Protectors, she uses hers for sparring practice.

When Rachel’s father fails to return from a courier mission and is declared dead, the city’s brutal Commander assigns Rachel a new Protector: her father’s apprentice, Logan—the boy she declared her love to and who turned her down two years before. Left with nothing but fierce belief in her father’s survival, Rachel decides to escape and find him herself.

As Rachel and Logan battle their way through the Wasteland, stalked by a monster that can’t be killed and an army of assassins out for blood, they discover romance, heartbreak, and a truth that will incite a war decades in the making.

The me from 2014/15 must have found this interesting but it’s not that much to me now.

    • To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

Lara Jean keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her.

They aren’t love letters that anyone else wrote for her, these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she can pour out her heart and soul and say all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.

The synopsis itself seems cliché to me and I never wanted to read this book so I have no Idea why I added it to my TBR but,

Okay so this was fun, and helpful and I have the worst habit of adding books and books to by To- Read pile on Goodreads so this is gonna be a long series.
